Winter Bear Studio: Train Virtually Anything

Studio Reel I created for Winter Bear Studio highlighting our latest work.

By 2021 Winter Bear Studio had transitioned to focus almost entirely on VR games. As a Technical Artist at Winter Bear, I was responsible for much of the modeling, rigging, animation and character setup for our games.

VR Drywall Finishing

A virtual drywall training program created for the Finishing Trades Institute where users learn how to install drywall without the mess. The program allows you to interact with commercial tools of the trade. I modeled, textured, and rigged various tools used within this sim.

Range is HOT! Rifle Walkthrough

For the game Range is HOT, I built the animation pipeline and worked on many aspects of the game, from modeling firearms to creating particle effects and UI.

Alarm Dot Com VR interactive learning

An interactive VR solution that enables technicians to build and test various systems, including door sensors, card readers, and alarm systems. I worked on modeling, texturing, and animation for this project.

DaVita VR Empathy Training

DaVita VR Empathy Training

In this Virtual Reality game, the participant investigates a dialysis ward to see how the staff interacts with their patients and finds ways to improve the business.

I developed an animation pipeline using xSens motion capture, a marker-less system that made the capture process a lot less complicated. There was still a hefty amount of mocap cleanup involved, and getting motion capture clips to blend seamlessly within a game engine was a tricky process. Still, the final result was an immersive experience that really brought this idea to life.
